Head of Finance & Controlling (m/f/d)


Your new job
We’re looking for a Head of Finance & Controlling to lead reporting, financial planning, and controlling, and provide strategic insights as a sparring partner to the management.
Your responsibilities
- Reporting & Investor Relations: Create, develop, and present monthly financial reports for investors and the management team – from data analysis and deriving strategic actions to optimizing reporting processes.
- Controlling & Financial Planning: Manage budgeting, cost control, and liquidity planning. Conduct regular actual-vs-budget analyses to identify optimization opportunities and financial risks.
- Accounting & Financial Statements: Work closely with our Team Lead Business Support and external tax advisors. Ensure the quality of and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while aligning them with investor reporting.
- Tools & Digitalization: Implement and optimize modern controlling and reporting tools, and support the rollout of a new accounting and payment system.
- Cost & Efficiency Management: Develop data-driven strategies to sustainably improve cost efficiency and profitability.
- Strategic Partner to the Management: Provide the management team with in-depth financial insights and proactively identify financial opportunities and risks.
What you bring
- Professional Qualifications: Degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration, Auditing, or a related field.
- Work Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in controlling, finance, or auditing (e.g., Big Four, high-growth companies, private equity environment, or software/tech sector).
- Technical Skills: Expert-level Excel skills, proficient in BI tools and financial/ERP software (e.g., DATEV, Power BI, Qlik, or similar).
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand complex financial relationships, derive clear recommendations, and communicate them in a structured way.
- Hands-On Mentality: You’re proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoy optimizing and building processes independently.
- Strong Communication Skills: Confident in engaging with management, investors, and internal stakeholders – both in German and English.
